Tania Frey, founder and creative director has been creating and designing projects for over 20 years. Growing up in Greece, Tania was inspired by the ancient Greeks and their extraordinary ability to create prodigious works of art and architecture that have lasted through the ages.
Choosing a major in art was an easy decision. As a graduate of the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York with an A.A.S. in Advertising Design, and a B.F.A. in Graphic Design, she moved to Kansas City with her new husband, where she designed for national brands such as Sprint, John Deere, Walmart and Hallmark Cards.
After returning to New York a few years later, she was fortunate to work as a designer for the only agency that exclusively served the creative and cultural sector. She created ads for the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Chicago Museum of Art, the Philadelphia Museum of Art as well as the Getty Museum in California.
Shortly thereafter, she relocated north of Manhattan and took on the position of Art Director, then Creative Director for a real estate marketing company. She conceptualized and designed marketing pieces for many of the buildings that dot NYC’s skyline such as the MetLife Building, the World Financial Center, 55 Water Street and 14 Wall Street.
After officially opening Stone DesignWorks in 2004, she expanded her services to reach companies, organizations and colleges that could also benefit from creative, targeted promotional product marketing. Organizations such as the March of Dimes, the Fire Department of New York, Caramoor Center for Music and the Arts, and of course her alma mater, the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT).
For more than 10 years, she has been teaching certificate courses in Graphic Design at FIT where young students and seasoned veterans alike, come to learn how to handle a design project from concept to completion.
Tania’s design and marketing ideas are inspired by all the places she has traveled both as a child growing up in Europe, and as an adult living in New York with her husband and two daughters. Her travels and work experience have taught her how to find inspiration, meaning and strategic approaches in each and every project.
From March to November, you may also spot Tania at Uncle Louie G’s Italian Ices and Ice Cream shop in Putnam Lake which she owns with her husband, mixing up tasty creations.
